How to fix a very bad mosquito problem?
We are having a serious mosquito problem. We have 2 bayous that join together very close by. With recent heat the water has become stagnant and the mosquitos have horrible, bad, millions of them, you can not even go outside but for a few minutes at a time.
I know what you are going through. A fan on the porch or patio will help keep them off the porch.
Cutter, Off, and Woods repellent have deet in them. Bug Off does not have deet. Avon skin-so-soft bath oil, 1 part oil to 5 parts water, will repel the skeeters. I have been told the arbor colored Listerine mouth wash, 1 part to 4 parts water, will work. This can not be put on wood. The store brand will do. Some fabric softener sheets will repel them. Bounce for one.
Dried tomato plants hanging will work.
Some lemon joy dish soap in some water on the porch will kill some.
Some plants noted for repelling them are lemon grass and citronella, the mosquito plant.
Lavender oil works.
