Has Chester From Linkin Parks Voice Gone?

If you look at videos from the live in texas DVD back in 2003 his vocals are near perfect, he has the husky voice that allows him to scream in appropriate parts of each song, and i am of the belief that it's one of the best live performances ever, and i'm not even a linkin park fan boy.

But if you look at recent performances like road to revolution in milton keynes (late 2008) he seems to not screem at all, when it comes to a point where he should be doing so, he leaves it for the crowd to sing

Also, i beleive this could be the reasoning for thier new direction, the last album (minutes to midnight) has minimal moments of deep screaming, (if any) and sounds like a U2 album, in as good a way as it is possible to.

I'm seriously worried that his voice has been worn from the first 2 albums and the performances that followed them.

Dose anyone know of anything or any other reasoning for these observations?

The music mixers in charge of Live In Texas suck. That DVD is so heavily edited i can't stand watching it anymore, nor would I trust. I don't think his voice in RTR is that much worse than LIT. It's just that his voice "live" is never going to hold a candle to a fancy studio recording. Really, you can't compare one show to one other show because there's factors of his health, atmosphere and stamina come into question. If he's moving around more and doesn't get enough air then he can't scream. If he's being less energetic, he can scream more. I have dozens of bootlegs and there's variation of his performances in them, but the overall quality has only decreased a smidge.

I do think his voice is getting a little weaker. That comes naturally, but I don't think they're at a point to worry at all yet. MTM, though with less nu metal in general, has the biggest scream out of any of the albums. They changed, not because of Chester's voice, but because they were tired of being pigeonholed as a Nu Metal band and they felt constrained and Mike felt as if he fell into a rut where his rapping lyrics were lame.
