If I'm burning a movie onto DVD, what speed should I write it with (it's a 4x speed DVD)?

I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, and am making a DVD for one of my friends. I was wondering if the speed I write it with should be the same as the speed the disc is capable of - like the DVD-RW I'm using for this movie has '4x recording speed' on the front. It's a Tevion brand, if that's any help.

Slowest is always the safest. Prevents data buffer errors. So go in for the medium speed available.
