How to Have the correct Attitude
There are an awful lot of individuals who take off for Internet Marketing because they believe it will allow them to spend their days slacking, playing games, watching tv, shopping, whatever and that they only have to do an hour or so of work every day to keep it up. You have to already understand that, obviously, this is not the way things get done. Just like at any other job, the mindset you employ will set the rate for how much success you should find (or won't, if that is the case). If you think "I never want to do any work" then you can believe you are not going to make any money. When you have a serious but confident approach and perspective, however, you have the potential to make all kinds of money. Here are a few things which will help you.
1. Consider it like a normal job because that is what it is: a career. Lots of new IMers settle in on their couches with laptop computers and the remote control. They assume okay, Im going to do a bit work but Im still going to have fun. Allowing a tv set or radio to play in the background as ambient sound is one thing. Just sitting in front of it really is something different. Find or buy a desk and perform your work there. This can help you split your doing the job time from your goofing off time. Sure you will probably think like you're back at a "regular" job but that's okay.
2. Set typical doing work hours for yourself. Perhaps the best thing about IM is the fact that you have a much broader variety of working hours to choose from. That aged "nine to five" way of life doesn't apply when you will decide to make your living on the internet. All the same, it is vital that you put aside hours every day for work. If you're more productive in the evenings, set aside four or five hours then to do your work. This is very good because it is very possible to train your body after a while to be in "work" mode at certain times of day so that, eventually, you won't have to make yourself get to work, your body will want to do it naturally.
3. Have a good frame of mind. This probably seems trite but it is true: keeping positive and telling yourself "I can do this" is usually what helps you succeed and achieve the goals you have set for yourself. It is not really unlike how, in telephone selling, people are told to really smile while they talk because people can hear the smile. When you convey to yourself that "I am good at this", "I can absolutely do this" or even "I am absolutely going to meet my goals today" that will translate into the things you do and your clients will pick up on it as well.
Lots of individuals chalk having the proper attitude up to clich or something they are more likely to hear about on Oprah but the fact is that the people who reach high levels of success do so because of their attitudes. People who assume "I want money to find me" do not create much money at all but those who think "I am going to make money today" find high levels of success!
