Should I take these aspirin?

My brother works for a pharmaceutical company and they found a supply of aspirin that was factory sealed/never opened. They gave them to everyone who wanted some because they were expired and he gave a bottle to me. It has an expiration date of 6/08. That was a LONG time ago, but this is the only medicine I have right now. I have flu like symptoms and I am really tempted take some of them anyway. Should I?
I have opened the bottle and there was a smell of vinegar, which I heard was not a good thing. : So any ideas?

NO! There is a cross reaction that can occur with asprin and fever that can be life threatining. Use tylenol instead. It is safe.
