Youthful passion merges with adult ambition as twelve year old Emily Hagins attempts to fulfill her childhood dreams of directing a feature-length zombie movie. Every director knows that making a movie is no simple task, and fortunately Emily isn't alone in her efforts. As Emily's mother juggles the roles of agent, crewmember, driver, and fan, the ambitious adolescent filmmaker calls the shots from behind the camera while going out of her way to ensure that the "walking dead" shamble, and not sprint. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

$12.99

MTV Films Europe and Vertigo Films partner to bring the Jackass-flavored MTV Europe series to the screen as director Jim Hickey follows a group of four daredevils who are challenged by the devil to discover and endure the seven deadly sins. A raunchy world tour of depravity and hilarity, Dirty Sanchez: The Movie combines the extreme stunts of Johnny Knoxville and company with a narrative structure by telling the tale of a stunt gone horribly awry. When an attempt to crash a car through a caravan results in the death of Dainton, Joycey, Pancho, and Pritchard, the fearless foursome are sent straight into deepest depths of hell. It seems that Satan wants to check their credentials before they are allowed to carry on with their reckless lifestyles, and now in order to return to their familiar plane of reality they must embark on a global tour of sin and debauchery. From confronting "anger" in Moscow to greeting "gluttony" in San Miguel and challenging "lust" in Bangkok, the boys all set out to greet and conquer the very sins that mankind has struggled against since the beginning of time. If they win, their prize is immortality and global domination; if they lose, they must bend to the will of Satan himself. With such stomach turning stunts as beer enema shotguns and liposuction drinking games, Dirty Sanchez: The Movie is not for the faint of heart. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Sweet Movie - Widescreen

Sweet Movie - Widescreen

$24.99

Like his WR: Mysteries of the Organism, Dusan Makavejev's controversial 1974 feature Sweet Movie is firmly rooted in the principles of psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich. In cinematic terms, this means bombarding the audience with an onset of imagery so visceral, disgusting and repellent that it "awakens" the viewer in a Brechtian manner by "short-circuiting" the audience's reactions. Sweet Movie interweaves two narratives. One begins with a trip to the "Miss World Virginity Contest," whose winner, Miss Monde 1984 (Carole Laure) is auctioned off to Mr. Kapital (Animal House's John Vernon), a Texas oil billionaire with an odd perversion. Instead of deflowering her on her wedding night, he sterilizes the terrified girl's body with rubbing alcohol and showers her in urine with his massive gold-plated penis, while an audience watches bemusedly through his bedroom window. She later escapes from her bridegroom, in a suitcase, and winds up at a wild Viennese commune whose participants indulge in public defecation and a food orgy that wraps with a massive display of gurgling, yakking, and vomiting. At the tale's conclusion, Miss Monde shoots a television commercial that involves writhing nude in a giant vat of chocolate, with which she is completely drenched from head to toe, as the cameras roll. The second story involves a woman, Anna Planeta (Anna Prucnal) piloting a candy-filled boat down a river, with a massive papier-mache head of Lenin on the prow and a lover in-tow who is a refugee from the Battleship Potemkin. She eventually does a seductive striptease and seduces a pack of children, then makes love to her paramour in a vat of sugar and stabs him through the heart. Throughout the film, Makavejev includes shock cuts to Nazi autopsy footage and medical experimentation footage, some of which involves physical abuse of infants under the guise of "baby gymnastics." Although it has its admirers, Sweet Movie is something of an acquired taste. And that's putting it kindly. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Hannah Montana: The Movie opens with Hannah's ($Miley Cyrus) hectic lifestyle wrecking the important relationships in her life. Because she gets into a catfight over shoes with Tyra Banks, she forgets to say goodbye when her brother leaves for college, and she's late for her best friend's sweet sixteen because she's being chased by the paparazzi. Anxious to get Miley back to her roots, her manager/father (Billy Ray Cyrus), whisks her away to their hometown in Tennessee, where he hopes grandma and the locals will help the selfish star reconnect to some simple family values. Since Miley wants to be Hannah most of the time, she hates being stuck in the backwoods town, but a cute young ranch hand -- and her grandmother's love -- eventually melts her heart. And, when the town needs to raise cash to stop a developer from soiling their perfect little community with a big, evil mall, what celebrity performer do you think might just show up to save the day? ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

The Rugrats Movie - Widescreen AC3

$8.99

Based on the popular Nickelodeon TV series Rugrats, this is the first full-length feature animated movie to star the little tots. It's the story of diaper-clad kids, told from a baby's point- of-view, and they were one of the hottest-selling toy franchises of the late '90s. The film features a hilarious musical number in the hospital nursery, where newborns have the voices of major rock stars that include Jakob Dylan (Bob Dylan's son), Iggy Pop, Lou Rawls, Lisa Loeb, and Patti Smith, to name a few. The story escalates when self-proclaimed leader Tommy Pickles is thrust into an impossible situation with the birth of his new brother, Dil Pickles. This new kid is grabbing all the attention and won't stop crying. With the help of other toddlers Lil and Phil, Tommy decides that the baby should be returned to the hospital for fixing. They all hop on their little wagon and take a high-speed ride straight into the deep woods where they realize they're lost. Chased around by animals (or so they think), the Rugrats clan must get home in one piece. Other celebrity voices include Whoopi Goldberg and The Rocky Horror Picture Show's Tim Curry, as well as Saturday Night Live's Andrea Martin and David Spade. ~ Chris Gore, Rovi

After spoofing disaster films in Airplane!, police shows in The Naked Gun, and Hollywood horrors in Scary Movie 3 and 4, producer David Zucker sets his satirical sights on the superhero genre with this anarchic comedy lampooning everything from Spider-Man to X-Men and Superman Returns. Shortly after being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high-school outcast Rick Riker (Drake Bell) begins to experience a startling transformation. Now Rick's skin is as strong as steel, and he possesses the strength of ten men. Determined to use his newfound powers to fight crime, Rick creates a special costume and assumes the identity of The Dragonfly -- a fearless crime fighter dedicated to keeping the streets safe for law-abiding citizens. But every superhero needs a nemesis, and after Lou Landers (Christopher McDonald) is caught in the middle of an experiment gone horribly awry, he develops the power to leech the life force out of anyone he meets and becomes the villainous Hourglass. Intent on achieving immortality, the Hourglass attempts to gather as much life force as possible as the noble Dragonfly sets out to take down his archenemy and realize his destiny as a true hero. Craig Mazin writes and directs this high-flying spoof featuring Tracy Morgan, Pamela Anderson, Leslie Nielsen, Marion Ross, Jeffrey Tambor, and Regina Hall. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Scary Movie 4 - Widescreen

$6.99

Spoof series torch-bearer and Airplane! mastermind David Zucker steps back into the captain's chair for yet another round of cinematic shenanigans in the latest installment of the Scary Movie franchise, this time mocking such frightful blockbusters as Saw, War of the Worlds, The Village, and The Grudge. An alien invasion threatens to wipe out the entire human race, but not if Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris) and her nymphomaniac pal, Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), have any say in the matter. With the clock counting down for all of humankind and the extraterrestrial invasion about to begin, the fearless but slightly dunderheaded heroines are joined by a series of celebrity guests including Dr. Phil, Carmen Electra, Chris Elliott, Shaquille O'Neal, and, of course, Leslie Nielsen in ensuring that the planet remains free of the alien menace and prepared for yet another installment in the over-the-top, pop-culture-deflating satire series. Although two versions of this film officially exist (a PG-13 one and an "Unrated and Uncensored" one -- evidently they skipped the R version), the unrated cut only reportedly features about three extra minutes of screen time, devoted to jiggling and bouncing breast implants. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Blake (Jeremy Sisto) is like a lot of people living in L.A. He believes he has an audience following him around, watching everything he does. He addresses the camera nearly constantly, and it becomes clear that we are Blake's audience. He spots a Suspicious Character (Peter Stormare of Fargo, who also contributes the film's closing song) on the street and follows him. He tells the man, "I know what you did," even though he doesn't know. The cops warn Blake to stop harassing people, but he owes it to his audience to fight evil. Blake gets a surprise visit from his parents (Marcia Strassman and Eric Pierpoint), who are surprisingly understanding about his mental state. His mother tells him they showed up unannounced because, "We know that your audience hates phone conversations." Blake advertises for a sidekick to help him fight evil, and meets a young, unemployed black comic, Antoine (Brian White), who doesn't have anything better to do. Blake is hesitant to hire him ("I don't do clich?s"), but Antoine reassures him that he is not a stereotype. Another run-in with the Suspicious Character gets Blake arrested, and sentenced to visit Elizabeth (Dina Meyer), a beautiful court-appointed therapist. Blake immediately recognizes her as his Love Interest, and her demurrals only reinforce his belief. Even the fact that she's engaged doesn't dissuade him. "He must be a total loser compared to me," he surmises. He thereafter refers to her betrothed as Doomed Fianc? (Carlos Jacott). Blake has a difficult time getting Elizabeth to see things his way, but his jovial personality begins to win her over. Meanwhile, he learns the sinister nature of Suspicious Character's behavior. The Movie Hero marks the feature debut of writer/director Brad T. Gottfred. It was shown at the 2003 Rhode Island International Film Festival. ~ Josh Ralske, Rovi

Upon realizing that their two young children are inherently evil, a pair of desperate suburban parents resign themselves to the fact that all they can do is document the youngsters' cruelty on camera for all the world to see. A first-person shocker shot in the pseudo-documentary style of The Blair Witch Project and Diary of the Dead, Home Movie tells the chilling story of the Poe family, a middle class, suburban clan living in upstate New York. Clare Poe (Cady McClain) is a psychiatrist, and her husband David (Adrian Pasdar) is a Lutheran minister. Clare recently purchased a video camera to document her sessions, but when children Jack and Emily (real-life brother and sister Austin and Amber Williams) begin displaying some seriously disturbing behavior, the concerned mother can't resist the temptation to make some home movies. At first the footage seems fairly benign, but then young Jack hurls a rock at his father's face. Later, after Emily interrupts a tender moment by slaughtering a frog, a conversation between the parents reveals that the children have always been violent, and their anti-social behavior is getting worse by the day. When religion and medicine fail, the situation turns critical, prompting Clare to try some home counseling with her children as the patients. But it's already too late for Jack and Emily, and now the most that Clare and David can hope to accomplish is to document every moment of the madness so others can understand the true extent of their suffering. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Something nefarious is afloat in the depths of Bikini Bottom: King Neptune's crown has been stolen, and the prime suspect is Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob's boss at Mr. Krabs' Krabby Patties. Despite the overwhelming evidence against Mr. Krabs -- not to mention having been turned down for a long-awaited promotion at the restaurant -- SpongeBob (voice of Tom Kenny) refuses to believe that his boss is responsible and teams up with his best friend, Patrick (voice of Bill Fagerbakke), on a mission to Shell City, where he hopes he can exonerate Mr. Krabs and return the crown to its rightful owner. Of course, this is no easy task; once outside the safety of Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob is faced with the overwhelming dangers of the sea, not the least of which being a cyclops that many believe to be responsible for the deaths of countless other unfortunate sea-creatures who ventured outside county lines. Among those who lent their vocal chords to the film include Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Tambor, and Alec Baldwin. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi
