Der Sch Pfer Und Sein Gesch Pf in Mary Shelleys Frankenstein $19.68 Prometheus gilt in der antiken Sage als Freund der Menschen und Begr nder ihrer Kultur; in einigen Versionen fungiert er sogar als Sch pfer des Menschengeschlechts. Er steht den Menschen bei, als sie von Zeus unterdr ckt werden und bringt ihnen das Feuer. Als Strafe daf r wird er von Hephaistos an einen Felsen des Kaukasus geschmiedet, wo ihm ein Adler oder Geier jeden Tag die nachwachsende Leber abfrisst. Mary Shelleys Werk Frankenstein tr gt den Untertitel Der moderne Prometheus. Darin wird die Rebellion des Prometheus verdoppelt - einerseits widersetzt sich Frankenstein, welcher Gott spielt und ein aus Leichenteilen zusammengesetztes Gesch pf zum Leben erweckt, der nat rlichen Ordnung, andererseits rebelliert die daraus hervorgegangene Kreatur gegen ihren Sch pfer. In der folgenden Arbeit soll untersucht werden, aus welchen Gr nden die Beziehung zwischen dem Sch pfer, Frankenstein, und seinem Gesch pf, dem Monster, nicht funktioniert und t dlich endet. Um dies zu ermitteln, wird n her auf die zweite Rebellion des Monsters gegen seinen Sch pfer, also die zweite Rebellion im Werk, eingegangen. Zudem soll ermittelt werden, wie im Werk mit der Thematik der Sch pfert tigkeit umgegangen wird. Zu Beginn der Arbeit werden die beiden Hauptfiguren des Werks, Frankenstein und das Monster, n her betrachtet. Das Schwergewicht dieser Betrachtung wird auf die Lebensl ufe der beiden Figuren gelegt, welche im Anschluss miteinander verglichen werden. Des Weiteren wird der Konflikt zwischen Frankenstein und dem Monster in vier entscheidenden Kapiteln des Werks n her unter die Lupe genommen mit dem Ziel, die jeweilige Sicht der Hauptfiguren zu ergr nden. Dabei wird der Fokus auf das letzte Kapitel des Buches, das Kapitel 24, gelegt.
