Dvd From
Can you record a dvd from a dvr without having to watch it at the same time? What models, if so?
What I mean is, if I buy a dvr with a hdd, can I record programs from the hdd to a dvd without having to watch the program while its recording onto the dvd for permanent storage?
If it is a DVD/HDD recorder combo, most of the time yes, DVD "recording" is just burning the files from the HDD to the DVD.
If you mean a DVD recorder separate from a DVR, such as a provider DVR, no. the copy is real time recording the A/V playing from the DVR. You can turn the TV off though.
