Get In The ZONE With Bed Bug Prevention And Treatment
I hate those tag lines late at night so you will watch an 11 o’clock newscast. “Are you being eaten alive? Find out at eleven.” Or, “Can you see the thing that is killing you softly at night in the dark? Find out at eleven.” Let’s just cut to the chase. You might have bed bugs and it might not be bad. And, then again if you know you have bed bugs, I think you should stop reading. Get you information elsewhere—this is for those that don’t know! Oh, and just in case you didn't know, bed bug bites hurt.
How do you know if your bed is infested with bed bugs? 1) Do you wake up to find an itchy and swelling welt on your neck, face, arms, shoulders, etc when you had one before sleeping? 2) Does your mattress have dark stains and spotting? 3) Do you wake up to see small reddish brown spots on the sheets, pillowcases or walls? This is some gross stuff here, but totally serious!
If you answered, “yes” to two out of three questions above, then it is likely that you are lying in a mattress full of bed bugs and need to get out of the house like it is the Amityville Horror. No, Just kidding. But you should furrow your brow and show some wrinkles.
The best way to get rid of them is to throw away your mattress. Bed bugs can live in wait for a long period of time so even if you try to wash it, they may resurface. Using pesticides on the bed can be dangerous for the owner. So only a new mattress is the solution. Eliminating and entire home for bed bugs can be tedious. So if you can afford it, make sure you get your home pre-treated against these parasites. There is a bed bug spray you can use. And since these insects also live in carpets and sofas, the best defense is prevention.
